Maxfield Parrish (AM, 1870-1966) 1924 Edison Mazda Bulbs Calendar
Description
Framed 1924 Maxfield Parrish (American, 1870-1966) illustrated calendar for Edison Mazda Lamps and The Buss Company (Hudson, Ohio), titled “The Venetian Lamplighter”, in a later wide-profile black composite frame measuring 24-1/2″ x 14-1/2″. CONDITION: Not examined out of frame but restoration is clearly evident. A crease, or possible tear, both horizontally and vertically in the upper left corner has been repaired and retouched. There has been further retouching to the abdomen area of the central figure as well as the lightbulb in the cartouche of the banner. There are also what appear to be tape scars at the top, and further creases and possible tears on the lower right edges. The year pad is missing and the calendar starts with January 1924.
