Whether working with families, executors, probate attorneys, trustees, or fiduciaries, Brad focuses on understanding the full scope of each project and ensuring that the details are addressed properly from the outset. His work emphasizes preparation, accurate information, and steady follow-through at every stage of the process.
Professional Background
Brad's background in the auction industry began years before he owned a company. He worked alongside established auctioneers in a variety of roles, gaining hands-on experience in auction-day operations, logistics, and sale management. This early exposure continues to inform his practical, detail-oriented approach today.
After moving to Michigan in the late 1990s, Brad continued working with local auction companies and benefit auctions, gaining further experience as a ringman and floor assistant. In 2004, he attended auction school and began working as a contract auctioneer, auction manager, ringman, and later as a simulcast operator.
Over the years, Brad has worked with numerous auction companies across the Midwest and beyond, including assignments in Michigan, South Carolina, North Dakota, and other regions. This broad exposure has shaped a disciplined and adaptable approach to the business.
In July 2018, Brad purchased Epic Auctions & Estate Sales, a Mid-Michigan auction and estate liquidation company established in 1977, and transitioned into full-time ownership. Today, he oversees a small, experienced team of employees while remaining closely involved in the planning, logistics, and execution of each auction and estate sale. In 2024, Epic's auctions attracted buyers from all 50 states and more than 24 countries.
Licensing & Compliance
Brad holds multiple professional licenses relevant to estate liquidation, personal property sales, real estate, and firearms:
- Licensed Michigan Auctioneer — State of Michigan
- Licensed Michigan Real Estate Broker — Epic Auctions & Estate Sales is a licensed Michigan real estate brokerage
- Federal Firearms License (FFL) Holder — Epic is a licensed dealer authorized to conduct firearm transfers and sales in compliance with state and federal law
These licenses allow Epic to manage assets that typically require multiple specialists — real estate, personal property, and firearms — under one experienced team.
A Methodical Approach to Estate Liquidation
Brad is known for his attention to detail and his ability to manage the many moving parts involved in an auction or estate sale. He approaches each project methodically, with a focus on advance planning, logistics, and accuracy.
Much of the complexity in estate and auction situations comes from missed details, unclear processes, or assumptions made too early. Brad's approach is designed to prevent those issues by establishing clear timelines, verifying information, and addressing logistical and regulatory considerations before the sale process begins.
This structured approach provides consistency, reduces uncertainty, and allows executors, trustees, attorneys, and families to move forward with confidence.
Working With Executors, Attorneys, Trustees & Families
Brad works regularly with probate attorneys, trustees, personal representatives, fiduciaries, financial advisors, and families navigating estate settlement, inherited property, downsizing, and asset liquidation throughout Mid-Michigan and beyond.
Clients can expect clear communication, thoughtful planning, attention to detail, and a consistent professional presence from start to finish. Brad places a strong emphasis on accuracy, deadlines, and follow-through, ensuring that each project is managed responsibly and efficiently.
