Doyle & Co. Dakota Pattern Lidded Compote, Circa 1885
Description
Victorian Dakota pattern lidded compote by Doyle & Co., circa 1885. Crafted from colorless pressed glass, this sophisticated example of Early American Pattern Glass (EAPG) features a central band of circular ‘thumbprint’ indentations on the bowl and lid, framed by decorative sawtooth and wavy line borders. The high-domed lid is topped with a multi-tiered, faceted knob finial, while the ornate stepped pedestal base showcases matching decorative motifs.
