EAPG Pressed Glass Compote & Spooner Group
Description
Three-piece collection of Early American Pattern Glass (EAPG) dating to the late 19th century. The centerpiece is a Barberry pattern covered compote featuring a distinctive shell finial and a pressed design of ferns and berries on a pedestal base. Accompanying it is a clear glass domed lid, possibly for a butter or cheese dish, featuring fine vertical ribbing and a faceted knob finial consistent with Riverside Glass Works production. Completing the set is a cylindrical beaker or spooner decorated with a pressed grape and vine motif. All pieces are crafted from colorless, pressed flint-style glass, exhibiting the characteristic clarity and brilliance of antique American tableware from the 1870s-1880s. CONDITION: Minor chips or flea bites along the rim and inside rim of the lid of the lidded compote, along with on the rim of the compote itself – see photographs.
