EAPG Diamond Thumbprint Compote, Flint Glass, c. 1850
Description
Early American Pattern Glass covered compote in clear flint glass, featuring the Diamond Thumbprint pattern. The compote includes a scalloped-edge lid and stands on a paneled pedestal base with a rayed design. The interior of the bowl displays a flower-like pattern at the center. Attributed to Bakewell, Pears & Co. or Boston & Sandwich Glass Company, this piece represents Antebellum-era craftsmanship (c. 1850), designed to emulate the brilliance of fine European cut crystal.
