1867 Parnall & Sons T.E. Cast Iron Balance Scale with Ceramic Platform
Description
Antique 1867 Parnall & Sons T.E. cast iron balance scale featuring a black-finished cast iron base, a white glazed ceramic platform with printed logo, and a brass weighing pan. The marble platform bears visible text reading ‘PARNALL & SONS T.E.’, ‘NARROW WINE ST. BRISTOL’, ‘ESTB: 1820’, and ‘REGISTERED TRADE MARK’. Additional markings include ‘3794’ stamped on a metal component and ‘016’ visible on the base. Scale weighs 17.2 pounds and 20″ long. British registry mark on underside indicates production in April 1867. CONDITION: Surface wear and scratches on the cast iron base. Small chips on the edge of the marble platform.
