Welcome to our Book, Paper and Ephemera Auction! With 550 lots, there is something for every collector at every level.

Featuring 6 centuries of books and ephemera on offer, from consilia and book plates from the 1500’s to a poster from the early days of the Covid pandemic in 2020. Rare photographs of Martin Luther King Jr in Chicago and a photo album filled with autographed photos of entertainers from the 40’s, 50’s, and 60’s. Posters for movies, protests, and rye bread. Books on every topic from anatomy to zoology and every genre of fiction, including three lots of Wizard of Oz books and a rare edition of Tolkien. Pour a nice steaming cup of tea and peruse this impressive collection of literary history and art. Holiday favorites for the table and gift giving across many categories and periods.

This auction is not a timed auction. It will operate just like a normal live auction. All bids are submitted to the auctioneer online. We will have an audio feed of the live auctioneer. We will open the first lot at 10am and accept bids from multiple online platforms and absentee bids. We will give fair warning when bidding slows on that item, and then the auctioneer will declare that lot SOLD! and open the next lot for bidding. You can bid in advance or wait until the lot opens and bid in real time. It is safer to enter your max bad in advance so that you don’t miss your lot when you forget the auction or don’t bid quick enough and we close the lot. The auctioneer will control the pace of the auction. There is no countdown timer and no time extensions. Once the auctioneer says SOLD we will move to the next lot in the auction.

Pre-bids from multiple online platforms will be presented to the auctioneer by the software system as real-time bidding occurs during the virtual live simulcast auction. Pre-bids are NOT timestamped. If you leave a max pre-bid, there is a chance another bidder from a different platform may leave the same high bid amount. The auctioneer will decide in real-time which bid will be accepted during the selling of each individual lot. If you are confused by this, please contact the auction company for a clearer explanation. This is NOT a timed auction.

AUCTIONEER’S NOTE: PICK UP FOR THIS AUCTION IS Monday, March 6 (10am to 6pm) by appointment only in Leslie, MI. Shipping is available. 

AUCTION TERMS:  A buyer’s premium of 20% will be charged on HiBid purchases or 25% on Live Auctioneers purchases. Sales tax will be applied to all winning bids. Tax exempt Michigan Bidders must submit a Michigan Sales and Use Tax Form 3372 to be exempt from Michigan Sales Tax. Tax Exempt bidders on Live Auctioneers must upload your state sales tax exemption information directly to the Live Auctioneer’s platform.
