Description
Herend porcelain hummingbird figurine, model #5111, is an exceptional example of Hungarian craftsmanship from the ‘blue shield’ era (circa 1932–1948). This piece features the sought-after Naturalistic (C) hand-painted design, showcasing vibrant green and yellow plumage, a detailed orange throat, and meticulously rendered colorful tail feathers. The bird is perched realistically on a tree stump base accented with glossy red berries. The underside bears the prestigious vintage blue hallmark with a crown, the hand-incised model number ‘5111,’ and a hand-painted artist’s code. Standing approximately 3.5 inches tall, this early 20th-century piece represents a highly collectible period of production before the factory’s nationalization in 1948.
