2 EAPG Bread Platters Gillinder & Adams
Description
Two Early American Pressed Glass (EAPG) bread platters, representing iconic patterns of the late 19th-century Victorian era. The first platter, manufactured by Gillinder & Sons circa 1877, features a central medallion depicting a lion and a dog, embossed borders, and lion head handles. The second platter, manufactured by Adams & Co. circa 1880–1885, features a central medallion with a Victorian-era man’s portrait, embossed borders, shell and floral motifs on handles, and visible text reading ‘GIVE US THIS DAY OUR DAILY BREAD.’ Both pieces exemplify the craftsmanship and design of antique American flint glass.
