Description
1955 First Land-Grant Colleges commemorative postage stamp sheet, Scott #1065. This full sheet of 50 stamps celebrates the 100th anniversary of Michigan State College (now Michigan State University) and Pennsylvania State University, established as the first land-grant institutions in February 1855. Each stamp is marked ‘3¢ UNITED STATES POSTAGE’ and features text reading ‘FIRST OF THE LAND-GRANT COLLEGES’, ‘MICHIGAN STATE COLLEGE’, and ‘PENNSYLVANIA STATE UNIVERSITY’. The sheet is housed in an orange protective folder labeled ‘The MINT SHEET ‘. 12 sheets. CONDITION: No visible damage or wear observed on the stamps. Folder shows minor wear along the edges.
