Wooden Firkin with Handle and Flat Lid
Description
Cylindrical wooden firkin with a flat lid and bentwood handle. The piece features visible wood grain and a reddish-brown finish, with two horizontal wooden bands around the body and a metal button securing the handle. The interior contains a length of string, and the base shows signs of wear and age. This type of container was traditionally used for storing staples such as sugar, salt, or butter. Firkin is 12″ high. CONDITION: Banding is slightly loosened. Surface scratches and wear on the lid. Small chips and scuffs on the body. Some discoloration on the wood.
