Description
Landscape oil painting on stretched canvas depicting Goring Church on the River Thames, with a punt boat in the foreground and a working cannel boat in the background, signed lower left “T. Gordon” and dated “1898”. The painting is in a period gilt and gesso frame measuring 48-1/2” x 35” and includes a double light gilt metal picture frame light. Late 19th century British landscape painters frequented this spot as a common subject. CONDITION: Not examined out of frame. Some minor craquelure visible. Frame shows some signs of wear.
