2 19th C. Antique Gold Filled Presentation Canes
Description
Two antique presentation canes both with engraved floral and scroll work, the one with the “L” shaped handle is inscribed within a medallion, possibly “Ms. Bappert From Miami Lodge I.O.O.F”, most likely for the Miami Ohio Lodge of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows, the one with the knob handle is inscribed “Presented to Walter Carpenter M.D. Prof of Materia Medica and Theory & Practice in the University of Vt by the Class 1857,” the gold on both is unmarked and is untested, but most likely gold filled or rolled gold, 19th Century, the largest being 36-3/8″ (L).
CONDITION: The ferrule on one is damaged and missing on the other.
