Wm. Paden (AM, 1930-2004) Wood Block Print 1960s
Description
William Paden (American, 1930-2004) wood block print, titled “Valley”, depicting a stylized landscape, possibly the Higashiyama Hills near Kyoto Japan, signed in pencil lower rate, titled lower center, and numbered (12/50) lower left, circa late 1960s, 13-3/8″ x 17-1/4″. Paden lived in Japan for many years where he studied “mokuhanga” (traditional Japanese wood block printing), was member of the Ukiyo-e Society of America, the Japan Print Association, and also taught relief printmaking at New York University.
