Description
O.F. Mossberg Brownie, .22 caliber, four-barrel pistol, serial number 3128. Manufactured by O.F. Mossberg & Sons, New Haven, Connecticut, USA. Features a 2.5-inch barrel cluster, compact design, and a double-action, rotating firing pin mechanism. The pistol’s designation ‘Brownie’ is marked on the left side of the receiver, along with ‘Pat. Appl’d. For’ and the manufacturer’s information on the right side. The finish is a smooth patina, consistent with age. The grip panels are grooved wood, securely affixed with screws. The pistol employs a manually cocked-and-fired mechanism with an integrated rotating firing pin for sequential firing. A very collectible example of early Mossberg craftsmanship designed as a pocket-sized personal defensive firearm.
CONDITION: The pistol exhibits an overall smooth patina, with handling marks and surface wear consistent with age and use. The wooden grip panels show wear but remain solid with no visible cracks. Screws appear undisturbed. The barrels display surfaces free of significant pitting externally, but detailed inspection of the bore condition is not documented. The rotating firing pin and action appear functional from the images, but mechanical functionality should be verified by a qualified gunsmith prior to usage. No additional accessories are present.
