The barrel is chambered for 2-3/4-inch shells and is marked ‘Selected Forged Steel, Proof Tested 16 Gauge, 2-3/4 Inch Chamber.’ The barrel and receiver feature a blued finish with stamped markings indicating the model and origin: ‘Westpoint Model 948E, Stevens Arms, Westfield, Mass., U.S.A.’ Serial number PD94537 is located on the receiver.
