2 Wood Canvasback Duck Decoys, Painted, 17" & 16"
Description
Pair of wood Canvasback Duck decoys, one measuring approximately 17 inches in length and the other slightly smaller, measuring approximately 16 inches. Both feature carved and painted bodies with textured detailing, capturing the distinctive coloration of a Canvasback duck, including a black and off-white body with chestnut brown necks. The larger decoy has a flat bottom with additional metal reinforcement, while the smaller has a more contoured base. These vintage-style decorative decoys exhibit a classic aesthetic, suitable for display or collection purposes.
CONDITION: Both decoys show signs of age-related wear, including scuffs, chipping to the painted surfaces, and areas of light cracking from use and storage. The larger decoy features a metal plate affixed to the underside, with minor wear to the edges of the wood. The smaller decoy displays wear to the paint on the body and head, with slight scratching and cracking in several areas. Overall structural integrity remains intact for both pieces.
