Lot 20:
Daniel Adamson 'The Adamson' Split Cane Rod
Description
Daniel Adamson two-piece split cane fishing rod marked “The Adamson” on the rod shaft. The rod measures approximately 7 feet in overall assembled length and features natural cork grip, metal locking ferrules, and cloth wrap guides. Accompanied by a zippered canvas case with a stitched manufacturer label reading “Adam’s, Angling Specialists, Invicta, England.” Appears to reflect traditional British craftsmanship with fine attention to detail in the wrapping and guide placements.
CONDITION: The fishing rod shows visible wear consistent with use, particularly on the cork grip, which has darkened and has areas of surface abrasions. The varnish on the split cane sections displays minor scuffing, but no cracks or structural damage are observed. Metal ferrules and wrapping are intact, with slight oxidation present on the metal surfaces. The accompanying canvas case shows age-related wear, including staining and loose stitching around the edges. Overall, the rod remains functional and displays well.
