Epic Winter Sporting Auction - Guns, Knives, Lures, Relics
Lot 143:
3 Vintage 1915–1940s Keeling/Heddon Lures
Description
Lot consisting of three vintage fishing lures from the 1915–1940s era. Two lures are consistent with the Heddon “Dowagiac” style, showcasing painted finishes of green and red scale patterns with metal spinners on the front and tails, along with triple treble hooks. The third lure is identified as a Keeling product through its stamped metal plate on the underside, reading “KEELING” and “PAT’D 7-20.” It features a yellow and green scale finish. All lures come equipped with functioning hardware and hooks typical of the period’s craftsmanship.
CONDITION: The lures exhibit visible wear consistent with age and use, including surface scratches, paint chipping, and mild oxidation on the metal components. The hooks retain their structural integrity, although some show rust and discoloration. Spinner blades on all lures move freely, and the paint finishes, while worn in areas, remain largely intact with vibrant colors.
