Description

Pair of early to mid-1900s Shakespeare fishing lures, featuring classic wood construction. The first is a black-bodied lure with yellow-painted eyes, dual spinners, and two treble hooks with protective covers. It shows evidence of use with visible paint wear and finish flaking. The second lure has a cream-to-black gradient body, yellow-painted eyes, and also features two treble hooks. The belly is marked with red lettering, partially legible as ‘Shakespeare’, indicating its make. Both lures exhibit character befitting their age and use, highlighting their vintage appeal.
CONDITION: Both lures show appreciable wear consistent with use and age. The black lure has moderate areas of paint chipping, finish wear, and muted color vibrancy. The cream-to-black lure shows surface discoloration, scuffing, and areas where the paint has worn to the wood. Treble hooks are intact but exhibit oxidation. Protective hook covers present where applicable. Structurally sound overall with wear primarily cosmetic.
