Attributed to Patricia Buckley Moss, also known as “P. Buckley Moss”, (American, 1933-2024), unsigned, framed original watercolor painting on paper, under glass, and in a stained and painted textured wood and gilt gesso frame measuring 26-7/8″ x 14-3/4″. Purchased directly from the artist at a Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) convention in Washington DC in the early 1970s, descent through family. Moss, who Charles Kuralt in 1988 called “The People’s Artist”, was born in Staten Island, New York and studied art at Cooper Union College. She is most famous for her depictions of rural life and landscapes in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia, frequently including Amish and Mennonite subjects.
