Staff or Banner Pole with Gilt Bronze Lion Finial
Description
Staff or banner pole with attached braided metallic cord and tassel, and a gilt bronze finial depicting a rampant lion, over the motto “Eendracht Maakt Macht” or “In unity is strength”, most likely Dutch or Belgian and late 19th / early 20th Century, 74″ (L). CONDITION: The staff or pole may have been shortened as indicated by damage at base, one tassel is missing from the cord, some areas of corrosion to the finial, please see photos.
