Ancient Persian terracotta jar, with a globular body leading to a short neck and an elevated folded rim, decorated with two Markhor goats, separated by two stylized trees, and all framed between parallel lines of varying thickness, circa 3rd to 2nd Millennium BCE, 5-1/8″ (H). Provenance: ex-private East Lansing, Michigan, USA collection of antiquities and relics; St. James Ancient Art London, UK (11/2022); a late Japanese gentleman’s collection assembled 1970s – 2010s.
