Lightweight steel German helmet finished in semi-gloss black, stamped with a “T” on the interior rim indicating Thale production. Features vent holes and dual decals—national tricolor shield and a faded Luftwaffe-style eagle emblem—suggesting use by Luftwaffe ground personnel or Luftschutz auxiliary forces. Distinctive rolled edge and air vents align with late prewar to early wartime civil defense manufacture.
CONDITION: Displays multiple shallow dents to the dome and rear skirt consistent with debris or low-impact strikes. Retains the majority of its black paint with light surface scuffing and oxidation. Decals remain partially visible beneath the aged finish. Liner has been removed, leaving the metal band and rivet holes visible. Overall, a solid and authentic example of a German Luftschutz or Luftwaffe auxiliary helmet showing field service wear.
