Lot 2564:
WWII German Polizei Double Decal Helmet
Description
Original Model 1940 German Polizei double-decal combat helmet, maker marked SE64 with lot number 7360. Factory-applied field-gray finish overlaid with a tan and green camouflage typical of mid-war field use. Retains both decals—the national tricolor shield on one side and the Polizei eagle and wreath on the other—both visible through the aged camouflage. Interior rim bears the handwritten inscription “Oblt. Lorenz,” indicating officer issue within the Ordnungspolizei. Complete with original liner band and partial liner, showing correct aluminum construction and rivet placement.
CONDITION: Helmet displays honest field wear with visible patina and age-related oxidation. Camo paint shows natural flaking and darkened toning from use and storage. Decals remain partially visible under the camouflage layer, consistent with period application. Liner is partially intact with the original retaining rivets and ring present. Overall, a well-preserved and completely untouched example of a scarce double-decal Polizei helmet exhibiting genuine mid-war field camouflage and personalized marking.
