East German NVA Officer Cap (Border Troops)
Description
Cold War–era officer’s visor cap from the East German National People’s Army (Nationale Volksarmee), featuring the distinctive green band and piping denoting the Grenztruppen der DDR (Border Troops). The front bears the DDR national emblem—hammer and compass over wheat—within a silvered wreath, with a glossy black patent visor and chinstrap. Interior retains the clear plastic sweat shield marked “NVA 57 / 1856 N” and “Made in Germany” which suggests post-1990 export from original East German stockpiles.
CONDITION: Excellent overall with light shelf wear and minor interior handling marks.
