Description

WWII German M24 “Stielhandgranate” (so-called “potato masher”), a wooden-haft stick grenade with a cylindrical rolled-seam metal fragmentation head threaded onto the haft neck. The head retains dark finish with a white stenciled German legend on the side and a faint eagle decal on the base. The wooden haft shows a cloth or paper wrap on the upper portion, a turned wooden end plug, and a circular base plug with a small drilled center hole, all consistent with period manufacture.
CONDITION: Finish shows light surface corrosion and paint loss on the head with scattered flaking, while the wooden haft displays handling marks, minor scuffs, and a small chip at the lower plug. Overall it presents as a solid, displayable WWII example with honest patina.
