Pair of Burmese gilt bronze statues with inset glass eyes, depicting Burmese Buddhist monks, most likely Sariputra (also know as Sariputta or Shariputra) and Moggallana (also known as Maudgalyayana or Mahamaudgalyayana), two of Buddha’s chief disciples, circa late 19th Century, includes custom made wood bases, each bronze measures approximately 21″ (L) x 13-1/2″ (W) x 20-3/4″ (H) (not including bases). CONDITION: Interior cavities of both statues have been filled with some sort of spray foam. SHIPPING: Local pick-up or third party shipping only for this lot.
