Lot 182:
20th-Century Singapore Presentation Kris Dagger
Description
This is a keris (or kris) — a traditional asymmetrical dagger from Southeast Asia, particularly associated with Indonesia, Malaysia, Brunei, southern Thailand, and the southern Philippines. Singapore/Malaysia trade silver. The full-silver sheath with dense foliate chasing and the ceremonial wavy (luk) blade are consistent with presentation keris produced for dignitary gifts and high-end souvenirs in the late 20th century. The presence of an export-style hallmark and sterling standard points strongly to post-1979 Singapore hallmarking or closely connected Malaysian production finished/assayed for export in Singapore.
Measures 11’’ with handle, 13’’ in sheath. Blade is 8’’. Has hallmark stamps. Weighs approximately 381 grams. CONDITION: SHIPPING: In-House Shipping Available. Please read our Shipping Policies and Terms and Conditions
