Grand Tour bronze statue of “The Dying Gaul”, 1868, Adolfo Dressler (active in Rome in the mid 19th Century) after a model by the German bronze sculptors and founders, Wilhelm Hopfgarten (1779-1860) and Benjamin Jollage (1780-1837), who worked in Rome during the Napoleonic and Restoration periods, marked on the base of the bronze at the back, “A DRESSLER HOPFGARTEN ROMA 1868″, presented on rouge marble base with bold and prominent veining, approximately 12-1/4″ (L) x 23-1/2″ (W) x 14-1/2” (including base).
