Gorham (American) sterling silver flatware set, service for eight, in the “Melrose” pattern, which was introduced in 1948. The set includes: (8) 7-1/8″ dinner forks; (8) 6-1/2″ salad/dessert forks; (8) 8-3/4″ dinner knives with stainless steel blades; (8) 5-7/8″ teaspoons; (8) 6-1/4″ cream soup spoons; and (1) 5-11/16″ butter knife (total 41 pieces). Also, included is wood storage case with a hinged lid top and a drawer on the bottom. Total silver weight, excluding hollow handled knives, is 1499 grams. CONDITION: All pieces are unpolished and some may be tarnished, or have light surface scratches, or small areas of corrosion, commensurate with age and normal use.
