10k Gold Flora Bust Cameo w/ Chain Frame c.1890
Description
This is a late Victorian to early Edwardian hand-carved shell cameo brooch, dating to approximately 1890–1910. The subject is a classical female bust, likely representing Flora, shown in profile with a pearl necklace and floral wreath in her hair. The cameo is set in a solid 10k gold frame, marked “10k” on the original locking C-clasp. The frame features an ornate chain-link design. The shell and frame bear matching “XIII” workshop marks, indicating an original mount. The piece is in very good condition with no visible cracks to the shell and light wear consistent with age. Weighs approx. 11.9 grams and measures 1 5/8” x 1 3/8”
