EAPG Gillinder & Sons Stippled Star Bowl & Spooner
Description
This matching two-piece set of Stippled Star Early American Pattern Glass (EAPG) includes a covered sugar bowl and a footed spooner, both manufactured by Gillinder & Sons circa 1874. Each piece features the pattern’s signature dense, stippled (textured) background accented by a series of clear, five-pointed stars arranged in a geometric band. The lidded sugar bowl is crowned with a multi-tiered shell-style finial, while the open spooner (or spill holder) is finished with an elegant scalloped rim. Both items are supported by short, paneled stems and circular pedestal bases. Crafted from heavy, colorless pressed glass, this lot showcases the brilliant clarity and fine craftsmanship that made Gillinder a leader in Victorian-era glass production.
