2 D.E. McNicol Ohio Children's ABC Plates Holdfast
Description
Two ceramic ABC plates or baby bowls made by D.E. McNicol in East Liverpool, Ohio. One plate features a large mark “Holdfast Baby Plate” D.E. McNicol mark on the back and an image with the text “Hickory, Dickory, Dock. The Mouse Ran up the Clock.” A second bowl bears a simpler D.E. McNicol mark on the back with an image of a child and dog on the front with the text “Baby Bunting & Bunch, when out for a walk/ Are greatly surprised to hear a bird talk. One bowl is 8-1/2″ in diameter and the other 7-1/2” in diameter. CONDITION: Some surface wear and crazing visible on both plates. Fading and discoloration on the back labels.
