Auctioneer, Appraiser, and Real Estate Broker Brad Stoecker has been around the auction business since a young age. His next door neighbor was a Hall of Fame auctioneer and Past President of the state auctioneers association. Brad was fascinated with the auction chant and the auction process. Starting out helping at live estate auctions, he quickly became interested in the exploding antique and collectible world of the 1980’s and 1990’s. At age 12, he opened his first booth at a local antique mall. Many weekends were spent going to auctions or refinishing old antique chairs to resell. This business stayed active even through college and helped finance a lot of books for college. After graduating from Muskingum University with a double major in Business Management and Economics, Brad began a 20+ year career in the electric commodity trading business. Despite working a full-time job, most nights and weekends were spent booking auctions, working auctions, and buying/selling antiques.

Eventually, the auction and estate sale business became too much to resist and Brad left the utility industry to focus his full attention on running Epic Auctions and Estate Sales. He earned his Real Estate Broker’s license and assists families to settle nearly everything in an estate from the personal property to the real estate. Brad and his wife Rachel, bought Epic from company founders Bob and Sheila Howe.

Brad has served two terms on the Board of Directors of the Michigan Auctioneers Association, served as the as the 2020 & 2021 Association President, 2022 Chairman of the Board, and is a life member of the MAA. Brad recently finished his National Auctioneers Association’s Certified Auctioneers Institute (CAI) designation, which is the highest professional designation awarded in the industry. The 3-year program requires a week of classes each March on the campus of Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana. In March 2022, he started a 4-year commitment as a CAI class advisor and instructor. Brad earned his Master’s of Business Administration (MBA) from Michigan State University in 2007.
